Arrive on the 13:00ish northbound bus, depart on the 14:00ish southbound bus. (There are only three round trips on weekend days.)

Expedition

I made my way to Berlin-Lichtenberg and caught an RB 32 train to Oranienburg. I could have taken an RB 12 train and still caught the bus, but that would have left little time for food in Oranienburg - especially since RB 12 turned out to be running late all day. So after a quiet train ride, I followed a sign to a lovely spot for a hearty bowl of soup. Then the bus ride was fine - up the highway, stopping in a couple towns, before the route spur out to Neuendorf. I was surprised to not be the only passenger getting off at Neuendorf Weg zum See.

Only a short walk to the gate, where I got a good reading standing at the angled wall. The gate was wide open and nobody was around, so I also walked in for a moment (under the big tree seen in the upper left of the website image).

Now I still had 40 minutes to stay warm until the return bus. I first thought I would walk around the outside of the conference center. Then I saw a camping area in the distance and, on OpenStreetMap, a trail around the nearby lake. The trail turned out to be a bit challenging to follow due to fallen leaves, and squishy in places, but was nice. I emerged near the other Neuendorf bus stop and made a final loop past a chapel built in 2018 before the bus came (same vehicle and driver returning from Löwenberg).

Another longer wait in Oranienburg (due to a significantly delayed RB 12), another warm purchase there, then RB 32 back to Lichtenberg and home.
