Elgin UK is not the most challenging graticule in the whole of Scotland, only half of it being water (but also cf. Peterhead).

I'm a landlubber so I am glad that the Aberdeen and Elgin graticules are not as watery as they could be (like Peterhead).

Getting to water geohashes became possible in 2010, using Portknockie harbour as the launch point.

After geohashing twice at the end of 2008, life has been busy. But the date of 11 September 2011 seemed a good day to geohash again, as it was damianc's birthday.

Expeditions

2008-11-16 North Sea, north of Covesea Skerries Moray, Scotland; failed

2008-12-27 Woodland, west of Fochabers Moray, Scotland; successful

2011-09-11 Turf Hill, west of Rhynie Aberdeenshire, Scotland; successful

2011-09-17 Moray Firth 6km north of Portknockie; successful
