Plans
My phone woke me up a little before noon. It was lizzy97396. "Hey hon," she said. "Did I wake you up?"
"No," I lied.
"I've just dropped my sister off at school. Do you want to come into Dallas and get lunch?"
I really didn't. I was still sleepy. I wasn't hung over, but my throat had the dryness that only comes after nights of moderate amounts of drinking.
"Sure, I'll meet you there," I told her.
Before leaving the house, I checked my email and went through my daily Internet routine. That's when I noticed the coordinates for today. Today's hash point was only a twenty-minute drive from where we were having lunch.
Fifteen minutes later, we both pulled into the restaurant parking lot. "Hey Lizzy, how would you feel about going on an adventure..."
Expedition
Our trip took us through the heart of Oregon's wine country. Soon we found ourselves heading up a mountain. Where would our adventure end up? Vineyard? Christmas tree farm? Quarry? We knew it had to be one of the three, but since I didn't do any research on the point we were unsure of the final destination.
The road became unpaved, and finally we turned onto a single-lane road that took us right into a Christmas tree farm. I didn't want to trespass, so we were alert for anybody who looked like they were in charge. However, we didn't see a single person as we drove through the tree farm. There weren't any signs posted, so as far as I know we weren't actually trespassing.
We got to the top of the hill and got out of the car to proceed by foot. We traveled through the small trees until we reached the hash point. We also got a spectacular view of the Willamette Valley.
We snapped a few pictures and then left, wondering where our next adventure would take us.
