Location
The 49 8 Geohash of Monday, March 2nd, 2009 can be found in between the three towns Flehingen, Bauerbach and Oberderdingen. The Mannheim–Stuttgart high-speed railway line is within about 700m of the Hashpoint, with no station in reach, however. The next station I would have been able to use to get to the hash is the Oberderdingen-Flehingen stop, served by the Karlsruhe S4 light rail line, a 2.4km walk from the Hashpoint.
Expeditions
Koepfel
After more than two weeks without Geohashing, two weeks filled with either being busy or the Hashpoint being out of reach or most likely both, I was glad to find today's Geohash well within reach. Also, I was supposed to write my Digital Technology Exam today, starting at 10:00 in the morning, so I would have been able to go geohashing in the afternoon. I originally planned to, after finishing the exam, take the 14:35 S4 from Karlsruhe Durlacher Tor, arriving in Flehingen at about 15:15.
So, in the morning, I started the expedition, with both my notes and geohashing equipment, ready to (a) write the exam and (b) visit some random location afterwards. However, due to bad planning by our professor, another group wanted to take another exam in the same room as we. In the end, we were told to come back at 14:00, four hours later. Four hours, however, were to short to do the expedition before the exam. And afterwards, at about 17:00, it was too late to go, since I already had plans for the evening. So, I guess no successful expedition for me today.
The only photo I can supply is a screenshot of the GPS-App, which I took later that evening, 25km away from the Hashpoint.
