::Ah, i see. the usual trick is to put it into a 'thumb' and set the size. you also get to add a caption, which is nice. Like this: <pre></pre> The catch is that thumbs tend to float, either left or right, meaning the text will wrap around. If that's not what you want you have to add a CSS trick to break the float: <pre><br style='clear:left;' /></pre> I've had a go on the Portland, Oregon page, see what you think. -- sermoa 12:04, 14 November 2009 (UTC)

New Stuff, Totally Unrelated to my Messing Up your User Page Stuff

Hi JimL, as you know, your graticule was the site of the the very first geohashing expedition but there is some controversy around the photo, and not complete certainty that they did the coordinates for the 19th on the 19th. They LOOK right from the satellite view, but I wonder if your graticule could, sometimes as a project, go to the February 19th site and try to recreate the photo. Sometimes when you're in the area anyway. Maybe I'll come down and help. -Robyn 06:53, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

Sounds reasonable. Maybe some inaccessible weekend. Jiml 18:09, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

Portland Oregon formatting

hi Jiml, you contacted me about changing the style of the Portland, Oregon page, maybe prettying it up a bit. it already looks great to me ... is there anything in particular you had in mind? -- sermoa 21:39, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

I was fighting with the picture, trying to make it work better. I though you might know some magic. Jiml 23:30, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
Ah, i see. the usual trick is to put it into a 'thumb' and set the size. you also get to add a caption, which is nice. Like this:

The catch is that thumbs tend to float, either left or right, meaning the text will wrap around. If that's not what you want you have to add a CSS trick to break the float:
<br style='clear:left;' />
I've had a go on the Portland, Oregon page, see what you think. -- sermoa 12:04, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
I tried your trick and it seems to work pretty well. Thanks for the help! Jiml 18:59, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
