This was our first expedition by bike. We still covered most of the distance by train, though. Our students' tickets allowed us to go to Zwingenberg for free. We left there in order to cycle the remaining 13 km to the hashpoint. After about 10 km, [[User:fivetonsofflax|fivetonsofflax]] claimed we had already reached the hashpoint, but found out that his GPS software had merely crashed. We had a very nice spring weather so the expedition was pretty pleasant. [[User:Euterkuh|Euterkuh]], who was using his bike for the first time in two years, was rather slow and mentioned that he didn't remember how exhausting cycling is. On non-paved tracks, however, he had an advantage, riding a mountain-bike.

I crossed the Neckar river and went on eastwards to Ziegelhausen. When I turned left, away from the river, and the route started to go uphill, I began to realize the I might have underestimated the Odenwald mountains. A few kilometers later, I had to admit to myself that neither my bike nor my body were fit for the steep climb, so I left my bike behind and continued on foot. I went through the woods for a while and soon reached Wilhelmsfeld. The hashpoint was easy to find and access, so I didn't stay there for a long time. I returned to Peterstal, where I had left my bike, and from there went back to Heidelberg.

On the way back, we had ice-cream in a café and enjoyed life. Later, we passed two boys playing football, and [[User:Euterkuh|Euterkuh]] advised them, out of the blue: "Don't cheat!". They concurred.
