I do not own a decent GPS (birthday next month will solve that) so I have been looking for a hash that did not require one. Low and behold PI DAY happened to have a hash smack dab in the middle of a street. Unfortunately I did not think that I was going to be able to attempt it because I had a faculty meeting after school and I would have to leave to get my kiddies from daycare right after that. The FATES intervened and the meeting was postponed a day. I drove home during my planning and got the camera and readied myself for my first hash!

Busted out of school right after the buses left and drove there using my Google Map directions. Man o man is this a high end subdivision. I didn't think I would be able to get to it because they have a big ol' fancy electronic gate to keep people out. Fortunately I got there at approximately 3:30 pm and that is when the elementary school bus drops the kids off at the front of the neighborhood. You can see a mom sitting on the wall outside of the subdivision in a picture. Someone in a golf cart waiting for their kids looked at me and waved me through the gate. SCORE! I drove to the dead end of that street and snapped a pic of the street with no name. I took the right and headed to the little curvy road (that actually doesn't have a name yet) where the hash was located. They are building a few houses near there so I had to drive around some construction trucks and got some weird looks from a gentleman on Cat Bulldozer.

I thought I was going to be foiled again because right before the hash street there is a crappy metal gate to keep cars from heading down into the completely unfinished part of the subdivision but one side of the gate was open and the construction workers park their personal vehicles there. I drove to the hash street turned onto it and snapped my Speed Racer achievement photo and then my stupid grin photo.

I high tailed it out of there and went to pick up my kids from daycare. I even made it to get them at the normal time and no one was the wiser that I did my first hash. . . the wife still hasn't made up her mind on this new hobby yet. . . sigh.

Plans

I do not own a decent GPS (birthday next month will solve that) so I have been looking for a hash that did not require one. Low and behold PI DAY happened to have a hash smack dab in the middle of a street. Unfortunately I did not think that I was going to be able to attempt it because I had a faculty meeting after school and I would have to leave to get my kiddies from daycare right after that. The FATES intervened and the meeting was postponed a day. I drove home during my planning and got the camera and readied myself for my first hash!

Expedition

I even made it to get them at the normal time and no one was the wiser that I did my first hash. . . the wife still hasn't made up her mind on this new hobby yet. . . sigh.
