I think it's great, already using it on my user page. Is there any way to use a smaller marker? I have a large map so it would look better with just a single-color dot. the_ru 05:56, 24 July 2012 (EDT)

Seconded on both graticule lines (maybe configurable colors?) and smaller marker options. I'm willing to help write these things if the source code is available. --AeroIllini 16:10, 17 August 2012 (EDT)

I would also likely use this (assuming I get some geohashes under my belt).  But I propose a different solution to User:the_ru's problem: allowing multiple maps - looking at his user page, it's clear that he has two main hashing locations in his history, some from his former home in northern Sweden and some down near Stockholm where he lives now.  I too will likely have geohashes centered around Portland and Seattle, and would like to have one map for each.  Perhaps give it a lat/lon and a radius to filter for each map?

I am also a web dev, and would also be willing to help out with the code if it's available.

I love this script; I've added a geomap to the top of my page.  I also have a request: could you add support for one more type of location?  When I'm planning an expedition, I don't really want to mark it as success or failure yet.  Could I label it with Arrow1.jpg, and get the script to make a gray marker?  (I'm particularly thinking of using this to map planned retrohashes, for which a plan might lie dormant for a long time, but I don't want to forget where they are.)  Swensonj 13:23, 7 October 2012 (EDT)

Would anyone use this directly on their page if it was white listed?

Yeah, I think I would --OtherJack 22:35, 19 June 2012 (EDT)

Would use it I think, but would like to see graticule borders in it, would give a nice overview of which hashes are in the same graticule -- Eupeodes 11:09, 28 June 2012 (EDT)

Can you not make as many maps as you want, only with separate center coordinates? I could make separate ones for 67 20 and 59 16 but I really prefer it this way. I just wish the markers were smaller. the_ru 05:35, 20 August 2012 (EDT)

I love this script; I've added a geomap to the top of my page. I also have a request: could you add support for one more type of location? When I'm planning an expedition, I don't really want to mark it as success or failure yet. Could I label it with Arrow1.jpg, and get the script to make a gray marker? (I'm particularly thinking of using this to map planned retrohashes, for which a plan might lie dormant for a long time, but I don't want to forget where they are.) errors

I see "Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 10 seconds exceeded in /home/a6120975/public_html/geomap.php on line 23" when I try to use Thomcat [1]

Though using OtherJack works fine, displaying most of Western Washington. Is it a geography problem (add Europe) or a quantity problem (94 expeditions) ? --Thomcat 23:16, 19 June 2012 (EDT)
Suspect it is a quantity problem, as NWoodruff shows the same [2]
Yeah, it's quantity. I'm using a free web host right now, so it's not very fast and the script times out. I've tried optimizing the code, but no luck. I just need to find a faster server. -- RedHatter 00:29, 20 June 2012 (EDT)
And I think the optimizing did something unintended, since now it's only displaying a few of mine (9 out of a couple dozen or so...) --OtherJack 00:19, 20 June 2012 (EDT)
Fixed, thanks for the heads up. My new and improved regex wasn't accounting for your bold points. -- RedHatter 00:29, 20 June 2012 (EDT)
