Plans

We had went outside so that we could say we were outside during a hurricane, and were standing around when I got the bright idea to go Geohashing in a hurricane.

Expedition

We checked the coordinates, and they were located on a highway offramp.

The trip there was fairly uneventful, despite the hurricane that was going on outside the car. Winds were approximately 30-40 mph, with gusts much higher (non-meteorologist's guess of 50-60mph). There was significant downpour and a good bit of water pooling on the ground.

We actually got diverted slightly onto an access road on the way up, but thankfully the access road rejoined the highway right before our exit.

Since the location was was on the opposite side of the highway, we exited the highway one stop late, turned around, and got back on. There was only a short drive before we got close the coordinates, so I set my speed to 55 (the local speed limit), and made sure I was in the correct lane. The coordinates listed as being in the right most lane. We passed through the coordinates, and then shortly thereafter pulled off the highway and stopped in a local parking lot to take the stupid grin photo. Having accomplished that we headed home to celebrate!
