Expedition
The Plan
On The Bucanneer Trail about 45 minutes north of us in Callahan. We'll swing up north through Callahan, head east on the trail to the geohash, then come back south via I-95 for a Tron achievement. From Google Maps, I'm not convinced we'll stop to leave a playing card; there's really not much around we could leave it on in the first place.
The Geohashers
The Adventure
By the time I was leaving work, it was already dark and I still had to get dinner. It had been a dreary day and there was just enough rain to slow everyone down and cause congestion everywhere. (Read: It was barely drizzling.) Given that our planned one and a half hour journey was now looking more like two, the plan was quickly confirmed as drive by the point for Speed Racer and head on back home.
Beyond that, it really wasn't a noteworthy expedition. We took I-95 up the Fuller Warren bridge and got off at US-1. At that point, things were definitely ridiculous; I saw a sign for N State Road A1A South. How is a road north and south at the same time? Why was it A1A instead of, I don't know, 543? Why do hot dog buns come in packs of six while hot dogs come in packs of eight? Either way, we hung a right on Stupidly Named Road, which turned into Awesomely Named Road, The Buccaneer Trail. It was a bit foggy with the weather there, and near a tower in the fog at night, it produced this ominous looking red fog that would look fitting in a survival horror game. We hit the point at full speed and continued on, back to I-95, but turning onto I-295 to fight for the users. I mean go for a Tron achievement. We swung around the long way and came back safe and sound.
No pictures this time, at night with enough water didn't bode well for any pictures of the surrounding area. At the same time, there was nothing to put a card on, so we decided to put the Six of Hearts back in the deck.
