* Recentlychanched, me (deuded) and a friend met a day before in the black forest to go skiing (and we didn't have a bit of a idea, that we will do a hash at midnight ;-) ) Unfortunately, in the evening, the friend had dislocated his arm while snowboarding. So we went to the hospital with him. Of course we had to wait for a long time (as it always is in hospitals), and were bored, so we looked for the geohash of the next day. Surprise :) It was not far away from the hospital, and only two hours to midnight. Yippie :)

* The arm was set, the friend wasn't narcotized anymore, the engine of our car still started (it was -18° C / 0°F cold, and it was an old car), and our smartphone still had 20% left of his battery. So it was time for the hash. The car ride was shorter than expected, it still was half an our before midnight. As we expected, the hash was in a field approx. 70 m away from the farm track we were staying on with our car. It was very cold, very dark (no moon outside), we were sourrounded by half-a-meter of snow, a big dark forest on the right-hand side, there could not be a better place to sit in a car and wait until midnight when the evil spirits will come to kill you, muhahahaha!!! At midnight, they came to kill us, but we told them about our mission we have to achieve. There very really insightfully and let us go :) After we took a picture of the cars thermometer (that has being warmed by the cars engine by now), we left the car. The short walk through the snow was wonderful, because it was cloudless and we could see a lot of stars and and falling stars! We didn't have a camera with us, so we just took some photos with the smartphone and a screenshot of the smartphone's map. The nightsky was so beautiful that we stayed for quite a while at the hash to watch the stars, and finally went back to the car on our frozen feet to drive home!

Hopefully in a field (it's quite close to the houses, could be part of their gardens too!)

Plans

It was a spontaneous, not well-planned hash, but nevertheless, it was great :)

Expedition

  • Recentlychanched, me (deuded) and a friend met a day before in the black forest to go skiing (and we didn't have a bit of a idea, that we will do a hash at midnight ;-) ) Unfortunately, in the evening, the friend had dislocated his arm while snowboarding. So we went to the hospital with him. Of course we had to wait for a long time (as it always is in hospitals), and were bored, so we looked for the geohash of the next day. Surprise :) It was not far away from the hospital, and only two hours to midnight. Yippie :)
  • The arm was set, the friend wasn't narcotized anymore, the engine of our car still started (it was -18° C / 0°F cold, and it was an old car), and our smartphone still had 20% left of his battery.
