The geohash lied near Raisting in a forest. Raisting, you may say? Sounds familiar; and you would be right. The first 6km to the geohash was the same like for that one [[2014-11-29 47 11 |last November]], then a diffenrent way. So, the geohash would have been in walking distance from home (5.3km as the crow flies), but I decided to take the bike, for the first time this year.

The geohash lied near Raisting in a forest. Raisting, you may say? Sounds familiar; and you would be right. The first 6km to the geohash was the same like for that one last November, then a different way. So, the geohash would have been in walking distance from home (5.3km as the crow flies), but I decided to take the bike, for the first time this year.

Conditions were strange: cloudy and when I started there was very soft rain. Not disturbing though.

I know the street towards Raisting very well, and in theory also that to the geohash as I went in this direction by bike already last year. Nevertheless, I took a wrong turn and ended up 1.5km from the geohash, when I decided to look for a different way. I went back to Raisting and took another street, this time the right one.

I already wrote on Good Friday about storm "Niklas" and its damages. You still can see them in the forests. Workers still untimber forest tracks and some of them are still too dangerous to pass.

I had to go up a hill, but these forest tracks already were in good shape, at least most of the time. I arrived at the geohash right at meet-up time, but no one was there. I parked my bike on the shoulder of the track and walked the rest. As it was forest, the accuracy of the eTrex was quite poor and I was struggling to get below 10m. Furthermore, you could not see much more than trees, so I took more from the track and documented the damages.

Finally, I went home, before the conditions might decrease (what they did, but later). Including the detour, the trip was 23.2km, whereas without it would have been 17.6km. No complains though, it was very nice, especially as it was the tenth Bicycle Geohash for me.
