+ | :::I agree, it's a grey area. So the way I play the game is to get the GPS to zero if I can. I've had a couple of hashes similar to your three-metre-lean-over-the-fence, though. — <span style="text-shadow:grey 0.2em 0.2em 0.1em; class=texhtml">[[User:Benjw|Benjw]]</span> <sub>{[[User talk:Benjw|talk]]}</sub> 00:49, 6 August 2015 (EDT) |

It's nice to see you are still active. I would not have bothered to zero that last ten metres. The satellite view shows no obstructions for many times that distance. --Sourcerer (talk) 08:01, 5 August 2015 (EDT)
- Indeed it does not, but in that case why bother with the last hundred metres, or the last thousand? Personally, I do not count a hashpoint as reached until I have actually reached it. Fortunately most crops are amenable to picking a path through them -- certainly wheat and potatoes are; I haven't hashed in any other types of field yet! Thanks for the message, by the way. I'd like to be more active but sadly seem to have a lot less free time than I used to. — Benjw {talk} 11:44, 5 August 2015 (EDT)
- I agree about 100 or 1000 metres but at 10, this is close to the inherent GPS accuracy. In certain weathers, over a minute or two, there can be that much drift from just standing still. Sometimes my phone and Garmin receivers disagree by that amount. When I attempted 2015-05-07 52 1, I got to the 5 metre mark. There was a big fence in the way. I didn't claim that one. At 2015-06-29 51 0 I was 3 metres away in similar circumstances but you could lean over the fence. I did claim that one. I do like taking evidence photos that show zero distance though. It's a grey area and only a game after all. --Sourcerer (talk) 19:39, 5 August 2015 (EDT)
