Plans

Expedition one of two spanning Christmas night - 2015-12-24 53 -2 - 2015-12-25 53 -1 - ETA 22:30.

This is my pagan celebration of the winter solstice full moon (almost as this is 12.5 hours early).

Expedition

My friends planned to go to midnight mass. I said I was going to a pagan celebration. When the whole group was assembled, some of the party had already been to a service and opted out. So did the rest of the group. I said I took my religion more seriously and could not opt out of my pilgrimage. So off I went. This was all done with much laughter and good humour.

All went to plan. Sandbach has a slightly confusing one way system in the centre. The parking lay-by was as expected. The footpath had been obliterated by sweet corn harvesting machinery. On the plus side, the open field was easy to cross apart from the wet slippery mud surface. There was bright moonlight and the temperature was 3.5 C. This was a fine way to spend Christmas eve,
