Expeditions

I was really excited when I saw that this geohash was less than 1km from my house, making me eligible for the Couch Potato Honorable Mention Achievement. I got worried when I saw the satellite photo because the location was on a cleared field, which meant that it was either private property, overgrown with weeds, or filled with 8 foot corn stalks. However, it turns out that the geohash is in the Wilton Frog Pond Conservation Area, which is open to the public from dawn to dusk. There was even a mowed path that got me within 25ft of ground zero!

After finding the geohash (and startling a few cardinals in the grass) I continued on to the Frog Pond, where I saw the largest pile of ants I had ever seen. See the gallery below:
