Expedition

I was planning on meeting my girlfriend at her new house after work to continue helping her with the painting and fixing up. We had planned to meet around 18:30 and I was going to pick up chinese food at the place I pass on the way. Seeing the Geohash for today, I knew it would be accessible, but the timing would be close. I let her know I might be a little late and I would call her when I was on my way.

Toward the end of the workday, I fed the dogs and let them out and grabbed what I needed to bring so I would be ready to leave right at 17:00. The drive down to the hash was uneventful, and I found the cemetery around the corner from the hash to park next to. It also turned out to be a dead-end road so I didn't worry too much about parking there. The property the hash landed on was about 10 feet (3 meters) above the road with a HUGE ditch along it. I walked near the top where it leveled off rather than on the road which wasn't that busy, but had a high speed limit. Closing in on the hash, I found that it was close to the bottom of the ditch and I didn't have too much trouble getting a good reading. Grabbing a couple pictures of the area, I headed back to the car.

On the way back, I stopped for gas at the Native American reservation to save some money on gas. I know we've always paid SO MUCH less for gas than the rest of the world, but it's getting way more expensive than we've ever seen it here and it was good to save about $0.30 per gallon (Reservation gas doesn't pay the federal taxes so it's always way cheaper). I called my gf on the way back with my updated timing and she put in the order at the restaurant for me to pick up. We had a nice dinner together before getting a few more things done at the house.

Since I haven't done one in a while, and we have some friends in Germany, I'm issuing a Tale of Two Hashes challenge for Hanover, being the town where the hash landed today.
