Location
Just off I-75 in Bartow County, Georgia. Well, I say 'just'...only about 250 feet away, but a bit longer of a drive.
Participants
Plans
Two geohashes into my career, I'm pretty sure this is about as lucky as I'm ever going to get with location. The hash was almost within sight of a road I was driving anyway and was, on paper, a 15-minute detour from a four-hour trip. To make matters better, it was right off a relatively quiet road, there were no obstructions, and it was located in a rare path of sparsely-wooded pinestraw that didn't get drenched by the storm front moving through north Georgia at the time.
Expedition
But far be it from me to avoid any adventure in pursuit of the hash, so after some confusion I realised that Google Maps had thwarted my plans and sent me to a completely different location a couple miles away for no apparent reason. Nevertheless, I was able to reach the hash without further difficulties. The hash itself necessitated nothing more than a twenty-foot walk away from my car. Even finding the exact coordinates proved unusually easy!
