Location

On a freshly-mown roadway verge by the harbor of Portland, Maine.

Participants

Expedition

We checked the hashpoints from our motel room in South Portland, Maine, and saw that there was a golden opportunity not four miles from where we were staying. Up we jumped and were on the spot within a half hour. It was in busy area of the Portland waterfront, with planes flying close overhead on final approach to the Portland International Jetport. The actual hashpoint itself proved to be on a grassy verge alongside Commercial Street which had just been mown by a fellow from the City works department. This seemed very luxurious as we wandered onto the close-cropped lawn and found our spot at ground zero.

We did the usual thing, photographing ourselves, the local environment, and our hashscot, exchanged a high-five, and proceeded to a local Dunkin' Donuts to file an initial report. The more extensive version had to wait until we stopped in Boston, and was written under the close supervision of Elisa and Natalia, our young New England friends and consultants.
