A sunny autumnal Saturday, a spare couple of hours, a new (to me) DSLR that needs an outing, and a hash less than 10km from home ? Rude not to give it a try. The map suggested the hash point might be within the church, so a bit of a gamble, the doors of rural churches are sometimes locked ... Arrived, parked, walked up to the church door, yep, map was spot on, the hash point is 6m inside. Outer door ... open ! In the porch, still not close enough. Inner door - hurrah , that's open too ! Hashpoint attained, no service in progress or parishioners around, so a quick snap of my 'phone indicating success, then a look around and a few photos. It's obviously a very old church ( C. of E claim 13th century, Historic England say 16th C. ) which has had a lot of additions, renovations and repairs, looks like the Northamptonshire ironstone used back when much of it was built has not held up very well, lots of ashlar blocks have replaced the old stuff. The interior is far simpler and more modern than I anticipated too, looks like the rear of the church doubles as a meeting venue/village hall. I usually leave a marker of some kind at the hashpoint, but that was not appropriate here.
