Yes, the idea is it's a hand held device that guides you to today's Geohash, it's just a standard GPS device (HP iPAQ rx5900 Travel Companion) but our program is designed specifically for Geohashers. | Yes, the idea is it's a hand held device that guides you to today's Geohash, it's just a standard GPS device (HP iPAQ rx5900 Travel Companion) but our program is designed specifically for Geohashers. | ||

Hello and welcome! Sounds like an interesting project you'll be doing. I hope you also plan to make it in person to some of the geohashes you investigate! Anyway, sounds like a good helpful program you're thinking about; I look forward to hearing about it. -- Benjw 18:17, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
- Whoa, that's cool. Someone joked about a GPS that automatically kept track of where you went all day and wrote your expedition reports for you, when I was expounding on my vision of the future, but I didn't think it would be here so soon! I seem to understand your project differently than Benjw. I thought it was going to direct you in person to the geohash, where his comment implies an independent robot will visit them. Either way, you'll gather a few interesting ribbons. Also are you Team Octopodes or Team Octopus? You've used both. -Robyn 16:21, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

Yes, the idea is it's a hand held device that guides you to today's Geohash, it's just a standard GPS device (HP iPAQ rx5900 Travel Companion) but our program is designed specifically for Geohashers.
And the team name is technically "Octopus Software Development", but there's 4 of us in it, hence we are Octopodes.
