Actually, I don't think so.  DrWilco doesn't know how to get the DJIA (toggle the

I'm defnitely looking out for a Global I can do, and have memorised the part of my area (it's in Leeds) that I think a Local would also mean a near-ish Global in the equivalent worldwide coords but so far it's not quite worked.  But today's (erm, yesterday's, it's now after midnight, having just returned from an expedition) wasn't there.  I've been planning to overlay the 'downshifted' outline of the UK over the graticule, for a similar idea of not-so-local Globals that I can possibly still stretch to.

The injury details need to go in the page link, but those 'broken' links were never created (I'm having a bit of trouble with the wiki pages timing out for me and not responding...  see my comment on the main page Talk segment for details ''And this post had to be copied out of one browser into another after I succumbed again, while trying to preview...'').  If things don't freeze up, I'll correct that.  In short, though, I seem to have acquired an occasional pain in my foot, and after walking a mere five or so miles from Meadowhall (nr M1, Sheffield) to Sheffield centre, it had reappeared and was excrutiatingly painful.  It was as bad the next day, even after a good night's sleep, so I let that one go even though the walk would be far shorter (barring the "No Parking" inditement at the gate leading to the path that would go near the Hash).  I've been Ok since.

BTW, I absolutely, definitely, need to update my User Page, rationalise the Sheffield calendar for 2011 (as promised), and I'm currently working with a possible OS OpenData implementation for off-line use and prepping some materials for the graticule (historical analysis, land use, road distances/timings, things like that).  But one thing I ''have'' done, for essentially the first time...  Got myself a little jury-rigged script processing a GPS dongle's signals.  Used it for the first time tonight in essentially my first non-NoBatteries with my own equipment.  Pity I overwrote the "getting there" log with the "coming home" one.  That'll teach me to append text, not start the file anew, when restarting the script, but I only put it together earlier in the day so I consider that to be Teething Troubles. ;)

Hey Monty!

(Hope I'm editing this right and not screwing up your page) Glad you're still about, we noticed there hadn't been much activity lately and was worried this was a dead graticule! If you're on twitter please add me @claire_e_dodd and I'll do the same, any plans we make are usually short notice but we tend to tweet our activities. Not sure I understand the alternate location lol, in fact quite a lot of this is confusing to us but we're still having fun! Anything on the M62 stretch is usually a good one for us, we'll be crossing into the Manchester graticule if anything crops up around Rochdale.

Welcome!

Welcome to the wiki! Glad to see you made it here. It was great to meet you at 2011-01-27 53 -1, hope you enjoy your time here! - Archmage Cat 14:51, 27 January 2011 (EST)

Cheers. Just hope I can contribute. Without going overboard, of course. :) --Monty 21:34, 27 January 2011 (EST)

Wiki Cleanup

No problem. I was cleaning up the "New Report" category pages and I clearly found a couple of your pages. (And one of mine!) I had some spare time while I was visiting here in Boston and figured I'd do some cleanup. Jiml 19:30, 24 July 2011 (EDT)

UK Non-Globalhash

Hi Monty. I know you are very active and you live a lot nearer than I do so how about this one?

It's a reachable Globalhash today (2012-02-03) but you'd need a boat. Sourcerer 10:56, 3 February 2012 (EST)

Actually, I don't think so. DrWilco doesn't know how to get the DJIA (toggle the debugging info) and so is mis-calculating the Global hash. Jiml 11:16, 3 February 2012 (EST)

I've just spotted Monty's injury in the Sheffield page. Are you OK now? What happened? The link to the page of interest is broken. Get well soon! Sourcerer 11:21, 3 February 2012 (EST)

I've been checking DrWilco daily for months believing its coordinates. Is there a workaround or another globalhash calculator? Sourcerer 11:21, 3 February 2012 (EST)

I think it only broke "recently" when Peeron switched where the maps (and DJIA info) are located. There are a couple indicated on the Globalhash page including Anthill. And a comment by me indicating DrWilco was broken. Jiml 12:01, 3 February 2012 (EST)

Thanks for the info. Sourcerer 03:40, 6 February 2012 (EST)

About time I contributed myself (sorry, not always logging in, when reviewing info, and I really ought to read more of other people's stuff too to keep in with the community).

The injury details need to go in the page link, but those 'broken' links were never created (I'm having a bit of trouble with the wiki pages timing out for me and not responding... see my comment on the main page Talk segment for details And this post had to be copied out of one browser into another after I succumbed again, while trying to preview...).

But one thing I have done, for essentially the first time... Got myself a little jury-rigged script processing a GPS dongle's signals. Used it for the first time tonight in essentially my first non-NoBatteries with my own equipment. Pity I overwrote the "getting there" log with the "coming home" one. That'll teach me to append text, not start the file anew, when restarting the script, but I only put it together earlier in the day so I consider that to be Teething Troubles. ;)

Anyway, welcome to my Talk page. I really ought to be more in with the community, so am gratified that you all came to me, essentially! --Monty
