But now there was finally a hashpoint in reach on a sunny day and I didn't have to work. I took my bike and cycled through Würzburg until I reached the most northern district, Versbach. From there I took the road I knew from [[2009-08-23_49_10|another expedition]], getting it almost right this time with only a tiny detour, and cycled past the ''Via crucis'' straight ahead along fields to Maidbronn. I found the right spot instantly, took some pictures and left before the people from the house next to it could see me and wonder what I did there. Then I cycled the same way back. My plan had been to call the pizza service directly on my route from the hashpoint and pick up the pizza on my way home but I had no money with me and had to go home first. All together the expedition took one hour.

Location

Today's location is right between a field and the first building of Maidbronn on a 1 metre wide strip of dirt.

Country: Germany; state: Bayern (Bavaria, EU:DE:BY); administrative region: Unterfranken; district: Würzburg rural district

Weather: Sunny, 16 °C

Expedition

Danatar

No, I didn't give up geohashing. It's just that in the last months, all the hashpoints have been too far or too boring or the weather was bad or I had to work. I looked up the coordinates every day and was disappointed each time.

But now there was finally a hashpoint in reach on a sunny day and I didn't have to work. I took my bike and cycled through Würzburg until I reached the most northern district, Versbach. From there I took the road I knew from another expedition, getting it almost right this time with only a tiny detour, and cycled past the Via crucis straight ahead along fields to Maidbronn. All together the expedition took one hour.

fivetonsofflax and Euterkuh

Having nothing to do on a sunny Sunday afternoon, fivetonsofflax texted Euterkuh to ask if he wanted to go on a spontaneous hashpedition over to the 49 9 graticule. Euterkuh agreed, and at about 4 p.m., we were sitting in the train to Würzburg.

Two and a half hours later, we took our bicycles out of the train and went on our way. For a larger city, Würzburg turned out to be rather hilly, so it took us a while to get out of town. A large portion of the way went along the Via crucis Danatar mentioned. At the hashpoint, we found no traces of other geohashers and forgot to leave a marker ourselves. The way back to Würzburg was pretty fun, because it went downhill a lot. On the way, Euterkuh hurr derp. We also played some ping-pong shortly before arriving at the station. Euterkuh won.

When we got there, we found out that we had to wait for about one and a half hour. We passed the waiting time with snacks and beer. It was midnight when we arrived back in Heidelberg. Fun!
