This one was pretty easy. Having arrived back in Melbourne from my week at work in Wonthaggi for the desalination plant, I went online to check the geohashes. Fixing the old link I suddenly discovered that the geohash for today was... 2.3 kms from my current location!
Jumping on my bike I was there in no time. I'd assumed that Flemington Racecourse would be closed or would require a ticket for entry - I'd even considered arriving late at night to sneak in - but no, I just bypassed the $15 parking area and headed straight inside.
Riding along next to the racetrack I came across an artificial billabong conveniently located right next to the hash. I stopped to take some photos of my surrounds and left for home.
The only eventful part of this trip was when my rear bike light broke apart on the road and a car drove over one of my batteries. Very sad. But this was certainly one of the easiest geohashes I've ever been a part of - what a shame there was no other Melbournian geohasher there to greet me.
Here is the Google Maps route I took.
