Returning to my hotel was a reverse of the above, with yet more discussion of past and programming languages (Prolog, to be specific). A quick stop for gas was documented from the geohash droid above, along with my first attempts to edit the webpage remotely. Much easier to do when you are *not* driving, I should point out.

Plans

Looking at an evening geohash, likely around sunset. Interested?

Love to have others!

Plans - I'm currently at Tech Shop in Menlo Park. Plan is to drive the RV down and pick up Thom in Santa Clara, then drive to hash. Examined various public transit options, the hour and lack of 'last mile' access makes it iffy.

I'll print out the 'the internet was here' page and we can pick up some sidewalk chalk on the way (or I'll get some today, anyway, I'll handle that).

Expedition Report (Thomcat)

Anniepoo arrived at the convention center promptly on time, excusing me from going to dinner with my boss. We drove north on 101, chatting about various and sundry topics. Gathering up ahead was the darkest fog cloud known to man, so we exited the highway and continued north on El Camino Real.

This gives us more time to discuss more diverse topics, until we reach the point of navigation required. One left, ooh that's a 7-11, then two more lefts and a right and we proceed into the neighborhood, then finally up the hill and time to park.

Across the street neighbors were wrapping up a Tuesday evening visit; we greeted them in a friendly manor, ready to answer any questions they may have. As they had none, we proceeded with the task at hand - finding the pesky point. This ended up being slightly up the hill side, near a bush. A basketball was found, but without a hoop, we opted not to initiate the sport of GeoHashBasketBall.

Anniepoo placed the plate on the spot, just as the Geohashdroid countdown turned green. I forgot completely about uploading a picture or report from the spot itself, and went to the digital camera for recording victories. I thought I was clever in propping the camera on the hillside, but underestimated the amount of grass in front of the flash. You can *just* make out the grins in the darkness.

Descending the hillside we saw the neighbors again; they again declined to ask any questions of strangers who had wandered into their neighborhood to take a few pictures. We continued out of the development and returned to the local proprietor of GeoSquishies to celebrate the achievement.

All in all a great expedition!
