Plans
I had to run an errand at lunchtime, so why not take a small (1 hour) detour to get a geohash and geocache on 12/12/12.
Expedition
As a reflex I checked the coordinates and found that it was reachable (like really, really, really, easily reachable) in one of my four graticules. How could I pass up a geohash on 2012-12-12. I used the excuse of needing to pick up a computer from repair to leave the office during daylight hours and high-tailed it to the hashpoint.
Going into the next year, I'm also trying to make sure I find at least one geocache in each day of the year. If I find no caches between now and the end of the year I'll have 119 days I have to find caches. Today was the first day in December I still had open, so I decided to make a find as well.
The hashpoint was a simple park and photo. Although it was a narrow road with no shoulder and a nearly straight drop on the side. I took some shots and off to the geocache.
There were a couple of closer caches, but I like puzzle caches, so I chose this one that required finding specific digits of Pi to get the true coordinates.
After that it was time to actually run my work errand and get back to work.
Tracklog
My GPS tracklog is available in GPX and KMZ formats.
