A crisp and beautiful winter's forest at the border of Berlin and Brandenburg. Fairly close to an old checkpoint from the times of the Berlin Wall. (Albrechts Teerofen with information plates on both sides of a bridge)

Plans

Nonexistent. The hash got me by surprise and due to Gaea's approval (perfect weather) and a day within my holidays I just had to get there. So caught the next bus and into the train right through the heart of berlin. And off the train at Berlin Griebnitzsee.

Expedition

After arriving at the train station, sunlight was greeting me. A short walk across the university compound brought me to the edge of the forest that was heavily covered in snow. The hash was about three clicks off due east. The path that led onward lay silent and deserted. I walked continuosly towards the hash accompanied by the sounds of my footsteps in the snow. After two kilometers it was time to leave the beaten track and head straight into the woods. All over the place were tracks of different animals and it started to feel like being on a game trail... wait, wasn't there some kind of movie with dinosaurs...

Well, after another short walk I reached the hash. I placed the usual mark on the closest tree and thought this would be the perfect time for the snowman hash achievement not knowing that I was already being hunted. I was silently creating a snowman right on the hash and then it happened. Something charged at me - a Snowlociraptor. He came right at my head hungry for the tasty jello that's inside. I just ducked in time to see him soaring above my had his frozen claws scratching my face, melting as they touched me. And then he saw the snowman. He knew the snowmans short legs wouldn't be able to outrun a full grown Snowlociraptor so he turned away from me. For a moment he kindly stood still so I could take some pictures of him to proof his existence before he allowed me to leave without being eaten. I ran off, hoping he would not follow my tracks and leaving the poor snowman a victim to his ill fate.

A half hour's walk I finally felt like being out of harms way and could peacefully continue back home. Crossing path with a mouse. To my luck it didn't challenge me for a duel but rather hid beneath the White Witch's neverending snow. Continuing further onward I reached the bridge I was planning to cross to get back to the train station. I had no luck with the bridge. It was missing a steady ground or rather ground at all so I circled around the river that was blocking my passage back home. The abandoned restaurant with the thrown in windows I passed later on made me pick up my steps again but to my luck I didn't encounter any more Raptors on my way home.
