Being Mouseover Day, and having missed the opportunity to go geohashing on Geohashing Day due to needing to take my wife to the doctor, I wanted to try to reach the day's coordinates. So early in the day I set out towards them. I drove to the general area, found a place to park my car about a mile from the hashpoint, and then set out walking. I knew the hash was in a corn field. But I was hoping that the corn would be grown enough that I could cross the 70ft or so into the field to reach the hash without damaging the crop. However, when I arrived, I found that the corn was barely sprouted. The closest reading I was able to get on my GPS without crossing into the planted section of the field was 72ft. The pictures uploaded from my phone are showing coordinates about 900ft away, which is bizarre since I was standing in exactly the same place as where I posted the text from my phone, which shows coordinates about 75ft from the spot.
Per suggestion here from Relet (relating to this situation in general), I'm counting this as Coordinates Reached since there was no fence, no signs, no barriers at all preventing me from reaching the coordinates except courtesy towards an unknown farmer. I apologise for the lack of real proof. I need to stop forgetting to bring a 2nd camera with me to geohash, or just break down and dive into the geohash droid code and add the ability to take screenshots.
