Plans

Drive to the BART station, take the train to San Francisco, ride the bus closer to the geohash, and walk the rest of the way to be there by 4 PM. Then reverse.

Expedition

Parking at the station, I scraped the side of my car against the corner of a parked car and required some coaching by a bystander to get disentangled. Most of the damage to my car was to the layer of dirt I'd picked up on Mouseover Day, but there was a noticeable dent in the other one. I left a note.

The public transit segment proceeded fine, and I got to the mostly-deserted Produce Market in time for the meetup. I put a potato on the ground at my GPS's favored hashpoint position and snapped several pictures with my webcam. The immediate vicinity was nice and open, spacious enough for trucks to back up to covered structures on either side.

I missed the bus on the way back and walked all the way to BART. Fortuitously, I got in on the same train as the owner of the van I'd damaged, so we were able to get the insurance and such straightened out. I don't think we've been able to convince the insurance company that it's not worth paying for an appraisal, though.
