Plans

1PE

I saw that this hash was somewhat nearby, and realised that I'd be heading in roughly that direction for morning coffee with family. I'd go after coffee.

Expedition

1PE

After my coffee with family, I drove past the village of Hall and then along Wallaroo Road till I reached the small-holding block where I knew the hash was in a farm field.

I walked to the fence beside the field, and saw that it had a barbed wire top. Also, there were numerous cattle in the field. I knew that I should not go into the farm field for work health and safety reasons apart from trespassing; so, I claim 'achievement' by getting within ~10m of the hash.

I later drove to the Serbian Orthodox Church just up the road; it adjoins a seminary for this church.

Cemetery, and dates

When driving back along Wallaroo Road I stopped at the Hall Cemetery, and went in. I found the graves of several people I knew of, and in one case a person I knew personally during my service in the Royal Australian Navy (see pictures):

  • Bryce Courtenay, an Australian author
  • Commander Errol Kavanagh, a pilot in the Navy, killed 13 March 1993 (today is 12 March) when a MiG-15 jet he was flying for a airshow at the Canberra Airport crashed in the suburbs of Canberra
