Expedition
Checking the coordinates, as I do every morning, I noticed that the geohashpoint was 2km south of me. I can make that in just a few minutes.
Except for the ice on the windshield, the street, even the car door was frozen shut. Once in and defrosting, I quickly brought up the map and punched in the message below, sent a few blocks from my house.
- En route -- Thomcat (talk) @47.7019,-122.3661 06:43, 7 February 2017 (PST)
The hash point was reached without incident. It is somewhat dark in the photo, but the actual point is just underneath those bushes on the corner. I'll be back later today to re-survey.
Historical note - 2014-03-11_47_-122 was roughly eleven blocks west of this location. Also, today is my sister's birthday.
Stand - I reached the hash point just after 3:00. I have an ios phone now and there are no good geohashing apps for iPhone (wtf?!!!). I still have my old android phone but I had no internet access on it so I couldn't post from the point. I took a screen shot instead. Thinking someone needs to write a Geohash Droid for iOS.
