Plans
The hash looked imminently doable when we checked it this morning! And right near the beach - yippee! I had an old friend to catch up with, so my evil plan was hatched - take him along geohashing with us!
Expedition
Picking up my friend Andy, I explained to him the general concept of geohashing. Interestingly, he already knew about the geohash geocoding system, so that was a good start.
"Similar, but different," I explained.

Wahahaha (evil laugh) - you are coming geohashing with us tonight and you don't even know it!
The hash was actually in a forest park next to the beach - perfect. We managed to drive to within about 1.5km of the hash.
Then we scurried up dunes ...
...across plains ...
... until we got there, in the middle of this forest! Here's looking west.
And here we are looking east.
And here's the hashpoint with hashmarker.
The beach was just a few hundred metres away to the east, and so a few minutes later we popped out ...
... although there were still barriers to navigate.
But nothing left to do to pop the lids of the beer to celebrate another successful hash.
Which is where we sat, drank, until the sun went down and we figured it was time to go and find some dinner.
