Middlerun's just this guy, you know? Made from the remnants of long-dead stars and evolved over billions of years, Middlerun now resides on a crust of rock floating atop several thousand yottagrams of hot magma.

He has the dubious honour of being the first person in Sydney to reach a geohash location.

Geohashes

Me at the hash for 2008-05-25 -33 151.
  • 2008-09-06 -33 151 - I got there at about 3:55 pm, took a few photos, and left after 5 minutes or so. Felt a bit dodgy hanging around too long despite the possibility of meeting other hashers. I saw the guy whose house the hashpoint is in going into the house, thought about telling him how honoured he should be, but I figured he'd probably just think I was a weirdo.
  • 2008-06-20 -33 151 - I went to the geohash at about 3:00 pm. I actually forgot which house it was, and thought it was number 17 rather than 21, so I don't have a photo of the exact spot but I would have walked within a few metres of it as I walked up and down the block a couple of times to photograph the street signs. Then I drove past a couple of times doing about 50 km/h the first time and about 60 the next, qualifying me for the Speed Racer Achievement.
  • 2008-05-25 -33 151 - I got there at about 3:50 pm. As far as I know I was the only person to make it. I went to the long term car park, where I thought the hash was, only to discover that there was a fence I hadn't noticed when I looked it up in Google Earth, and the gates were locked. Luckily there was a gash in the fence which had been closed up with a few bits of wire. I removed some of the wires and got through, took the photos, and then went back to wait for other geohashers. A security guy asked to see my parking ticket, and I told him I didn't have one because I was meeting someone. He asked me to wait by the office at the entrance to the car park, so I just left. When I got back to the terminal I met Gormster who recognised my Sudo shirt.
