There wasn't any room to pull over on the side of the road near the spot, so we parked at a nursing home nearby. It was only about a five-minute walk to the spot, and it was a lovely afternoon anyways so it was fine. What was weird was that the label I put on Google Maps to mark the spot disappeared when I zoomed in close enough on my phone. Just about the opposite of helpful for someone trying to verify if they reached an exact location. Zooming out revealed that we were right on the money though, and the spot happened to be right near some pretty purple flowers in a patch of white ones. My sister said that the white flowers were a cousin of Queen Anne's lace, and we had no idea what the purple ones were. A couple of regular Bear Gryllses out there in the wilderness, that's for sure. What matters is that we reached it. I may have felt just a tad more of a sense of accomplishment than my sister, since I think she remains unconverted to the geohash cause. That's okay though, I'm sure she'd be down for another adventure if the opportunity arises.

This felt like the first time in forever that we had a hash in the northwest corner of my graticule, and it happened to be very close to a hash I didn't successfully reach on February 28th. Today's spot was much more accessible, since it was right on the side of a road that wasn't terribly busy. What was also nice was I went with my sister to drop off a package nearby, so she accompanied me to see what this fuss I've been making about geohashing was all about. There wasn't any room to pull over on the side of the road near the spot, so we parked at a nursing home nearby. It was only about a five-minute walk to the spot, and it was a lovely afternoon anyways so it was fine. Unfortunately, my sister said she had a migraine so she was slowing us down on the walk a tiny bit. As Shikamaru would say, what a draaaag.

Most likely, the geohash spots tomorrow will be somewhere inaccessible, but in any case this was a nice way to prematurely celebrate Geohashing Day. Cheers, fellow hashers.
