What a great location for a geohash: Right on a cycling path in/near the Boberger Niederung, one of my (π π π's) favourite places in Hamburg (see 2021-09-23 53 10 and 2019-05-29 53 10). Additionally, it wasn't that far from Leidenfrost's place, and since we wanted to attend an event in Hamburg that evening anyway, he decided to come. Additionally additionally, I cycled across this very path less than a year ago on a Hamburg observatory bike tour to the LOFAR (radio telescope) station in Norderstedt, we stopped even only 50 m from the hash to wait for someone, and I took a photo at the Boberger See 700 m from the coordinates – that's got to be enough for my first unambiguous Déjà-vu achievement! Additionally additionally additionally, this hash was only 800 m from 2019-05-29 53 10 (where Leidenfrost got evicted from the train a few stations before we arrived, and which turned out to be the most beautiful hash yet) AND only 1.3 km from 2022-05-24 53 10 (which Leidenfrost tried to reach on his own not even a month before, but failed)! A remarkable accumulation of more or less rare coincidences.

Anyway, we decided to meet up at the hash. I set off from university to catch the U-Bahn, but was stopped by an official before I had even reached the platform – it was between 4 pm and 6 pm, and in Hamburg you're still not allowed to take your bike on the train during that time (usually, nobody cares). I considered just cycling to the next station and getting the next train, but with perhaps tightened controls didn't want to risk having to pay a fine, so instead I cycled the entire 14 km to the hash along Hamburg's mostly still dreadful (when existing) bike lanes, while Leidenfrost cycled there from his place. We met at the hash and located it at slightly different spots (though both on the path), and took pictures. Then, we cycled through the nature reserve to the location of 2019-05-29 53 10, which Leidenfrost had missed three years previously (it was full of mosquitos). We talked for a while longer, and then cycled back to the inner city to arrive in time for the climate-themed student poetry slam we had agreed on attending (Leidenfrost voted against taking the train). We lost each other for a while, and spent several minutes swerving pedestrians on Steindamm, but duly made it to the zoology department. (The slam, it turned out, didn't start for another 25 minutes).

What a great location for a geohash: Right on a cycling path in/near the Boberger Niederung, one of my (π π π's) favourite places in Hamburg (see 2021-09-23 53 10 and 2019-05-29 53 10). Additionally, it wasn't that far from Leidenfrost's place, and since we wanted to attend an event in Hamburg that evening anyway, she decided to come. Additionally additionally additionally, this hash was only 800 m from 2019-05-29 53 10 (where Leidenfrost got evicted from the train a few stations before we arrived, and which turned out to be the most beautiful hash yet) AND only 1.3 km from 2022-05-24 53 10 (which Leidenfrost tried to reach on her own not even a month before, but failed)!

I considered just cycling to the next station and getting the next train, but with perhaps tightened controls didn't want to risk having to pay a fine, so instead I cycled the entire 14 km to the hash along Hamburg's mostly still dreadful (when existing) bike lanes, while Leidenfrost cycled there from her place.
