Three-year Hashiversary celebration! I'd hoped perhaps Leidenfrost would come along, but in the end, she didn't. When I looked at the train times, I noticed that I had half an hour to kill in Bad Bramstedt, so I decided to go for a Hobbit achievement, taking with me the One Ring and some food. I got onto the train to Bad Bramstedt in the late afternoon, then cycled 1.3 km to the beginning of a long forest and hid my bike behind a WW1 memorial.

I took off my shoes, wanting to walk a kilometre barefoot through the forest to the hash – but shortly after I set off, I became doubtful and checked the requirements for the achievement again. Sure enough, you have to be barefoot for the entire trip – that does make a lot of sense. I just remembered something about having to walk at least a kilometre barefoot, but that applies only to walking. So I weighed my options of continuing and claiming a Radio Yerevan or aborting the achievement and decided on the latter. So I put my shoes back on and strolled through the beautifully lush and surprisingly hilly forest to the hashpoint.

It lay directly next to a path, only 11 m from the forest edge. I took photos and walked back a completely different route through the forest to my bike. I still had time to spare, so I cycled through the town with its picturesque medieval to 17th-century architecture for a short while before catching my train back.
