Expedition

Today's hashpoint was located in Castricum. I drove the hashmobile there and parked just a few metres away from the point. The point itself was right next to some bushes, but as I was searching for it, a massive downpour occurred and I hurried back to the car to avoid getting soaked. Once it had stopped raining I got back out again and found the point. After taking the required pictures I explored the town a bit more and visited its archaeological museum. Then I drove on to the next-door town of Beverwijk to have a look at its Bazaar, a huge covered market that I had never been to before.

  We've arrived at the car park. The point is somewhere near that van on the left.

  I tried reaching it from this side, but the point was a bit further ahead than I could reach. So I approached it from the other side.

  Castricum city hall is nearby. It's a modern castle-like building.

• 

  There is also a monument to the 1799 Battle of Castricum, in which Dutch and French troops defeated the Anglo-Russian alliance during the War of the Second Coalition.
