Expedition
Bit of a low-key expedition, but a fun one. I saw that it wasn't too far away and looked accessible, and I had the Saturday free, so why not?
The hashpoint turned out to be right off old Route 66 in Berywn, and the area clearly remembers its past--there's a Route 66 museum nearby, various plaques and signs, even businesses with Route 66 in the name.
I had my mother stop the car at what looked like an arbitrary spot in front of a bank, then got out. Only upon reaching the back of the bank did I see the alleyway that had presented itself online. I did the hash dance until I was practically on top of a sign that said "Beware Of Dog", but while I heard some barking, I never saw the dog. Pressing up against the fence got we within accuracy distance of the hash! And on the way back we made a point of taking side streets and going down roads we didn't already know, which was a fun experience.
