Remember when I said I like to use hashes as an excuse to use weird trains I never had a reason to use? Or when I said there is a strange, 15 mins, no intermediate stops commuter rail service (S-Bahn) between Nuremberg and Allersberg I'd like to try out eventually?
Today is that day. The hash is closer to Allersberg than 2023-10-17 49 11, and by now it's summer, so I have much more sunlight available for hashes after work. I depart work shoutbound, and arrive at Nuremberg central station without issue.
The S-Bahn isn't as empty as I expected. Since Allersberg is not a big city, and since you cannot change to a different train there, I expected it to be very empty. But while it clearly is the least used of Nuremberg's S-Bahn lines, it did have a respectable number of riders. It probably helped that I used it in the evening rush-hour.
From Allersberg, I walked north to the hash to reach the general area of the hash. I struggle to locate it precisely since my compass and my gps seem to disagree where 'north' is. After confirming with the sun, my compass seems to be pointing south right now. Not slightly off, just straight south. Don't ask me how that's possible.
After clearing that up, I reach the hash, record proof and walk back to the train station.
