A little bit about me

I learned about Geohashing on December 31, 2008. And attempted my first hash two days later. My job as a science teacher severely limits my opportunities to wonder around. I am also limited by distance being on a teacher's salary and not willing to spend money on gas that could be spent on "decent" food. At any rate, I'll attempt as many hashes as I can try to keep readers entertained.

PS: My brothers are also in this ( Woodveil ). They beat me getting started.

Successful Geohashes (1)

2009-06-15 - The second hash ever to be reached in the Jacksonville graticule. Unsuccessful Geohashes (5) On 2009-02-28. Attempt number five. Check it. On 2009-02-22. My fourth attempt. The hash looked good. Success seemed within reach. Check it out. On 2009-01-25. My third attempt. The hash should be reachable, but still no success. Click and read my dramatic tale. On 2009-01-18. Two weeks since my last attempt, I now have a simple GPS and some time on my hands. The hash was close and appears to be reachable. Click and see what went wrong. On 2009-01-02. Being very interested in completing a geohash before having to go back work I checked the coordinates right at 9:30 EST. It was only six miles away. And in a location that I thought would be easily accessible. How did it end up? Click and see. Mr. Bow Tie earned the There might be alligators! consolation prize by being prevented from reaching the (30, -81) geohash on 2009-01-25 by an impassable and unforeseen Classic Florida Swamp (and probably lurking alligators). This user earned the Tron achievement by reaching and returning from the (30, -81) geohash without crossing their own tracks on 2009-06-15.
