This achievement was proposed in the past, but has been rejected, because it could just as well be an extension of the drag-along achievement. Please read the discussion page for more details.
As per the page proposed achievements: If an achievement has strong opposition and the reasons for opposition are not resolved through discussion, then the proposed achievements category is replaced with the rejected achievements category, the reason explained succinctly on the page, and the page otherwise marked to make sure it isn't confused with an achievements page.
When I read Sara's latest expedition report, I became aware that there are only very few expeditions with children. Kids are fun, so I thought it might be a nice idea to encourage introducing the little ones into the fascinating world of geekdom spontaneous expeditions. Maybe this achievement could be split into two parts. One for accompanying someone of twelve years or less on the expedition and one for those who actually went on an expedition at this age themselves.
A few regulations:
- Consent or attendance of the legal guardians should be absolutely mandatory.
- Participants should check thoroughly whether the route to the hashpoint is suitable for children. There should be no exceedingly long walks, difficult terrains, raptor enclosures or similar obstacles.
- Rather, it might be a good idea to get this achievement in combination with the Buccaneer, Snowman, GeoSquishy or similar achievements.
