Expedition
Well, I finished up with my morning stuff and headed to the Farmer's market, where I got to visit and get stuff from some of my favorite vendors.
Then I headed back for something forgotten this morning, and then went for the hashpoint. It was pretty straight forward to get there, but as I passed by for the first time, I had a bad feeling about it. The "clear" field that I thought contained the hashpoint seemed to be surrounded by blackberry. But I backtracked and parked near the nearby sports fields and proceeded by foot.
As I feared, the hashpoint seemed to be behind both a few strings of man-made barbed wire and the natural version, blackberry.
I wandered over to a nearby house and asked about access. A couple of kids were all enthused about accessing the field, but the father said he'd never been in there.
I wandered back and looked at the one sort-of gap I had seen which had one of three strands of barbed wire missing and decided I wasn't up for that.
I walked up the path to see if there was another way in and was delighted to see an apparent path off to the right. As I got closer, I found that it headed down to a pond, and after climbing over a fallen tree, I found that it wasn't that passable. And there might be gators!
