Go after the heat of the day - unusually it's actually hot today (by English standards)!
Expedition
About 40 years ago I sailed a Wayfarer dinghy along the full navigable lengths of the rivers Waveney and Yare, making a short diversion into Oulton Broad (the lake, not the town). I spent the night, moored in Slutton's Dyke so it's nostalgia time. The dinghy had removable a tent cover over the boom, so you could camp overnight in the dry. All very Swallows minus the Amazons.
