Expedition - Felix Dance
This hash was the perfect sendoff for our foster greyhound, Natalie.
Lachie sent me a message early in the morning pointing out the day's hash - extremely convenient for both of us. We discussed a morning expedition but both he and I needed to be back by 10am: Lachie to prepare for a Christmas Party, I to watch an online sperm donors' webinar. Both were achievable.
But the timing also worked out in another way: Natalie needed to go back to the greyhound fostering agency that morning and we wanted to give her one last walk around the neighbourhood to say goodbye. Adding in a geohash... who could ask for more? So Ruth, Natalie and I left the house towards the hash.
A bit of sniffing and checking out other dogs, as is usual for our walks, only slightly waylaid us. We had a scare with Natalie lunging forward to try and bite a baby myna but her muzzle prevented her from doing any damage. And in no time we were there! We got to the point and stood beneath the flowering jacaranda tree waiting for Lachie, held up by traffic on his bike.
When all assembled we took a few photos we headed back to a local park on Moonee Ponds Creek to drink our celebratory hash-beers (yes, it was 9am, what of it?). At last we headed off in our separate ways.
Another hash well done, and hopefully the first of many for Natalie, assuming her new owners are versed in, and practice, geohashing.
