The majority of this graticule is water with only a small corner being on land. Sale is the main city within the graticule, with Longford and its gas refinery as an adjacent large town. There are also some of the Lakes of the Gippsland within the graticule confines, such as Lake Wellington, and a good section of Ninety Mile Beach and associated holiday towns.
It is named after the main city of Sale, which is a stop on the Bairnsdale Train Line.
