Not much needs to be added. Fippe and I coordinated on a time. In the morning, I took the A2 and then the replacement bus to Eidelstedter Platz, then cycled 750 m to the hash, even being slightly ahead of schedule. Fippe was already there. I found the spot right next to the cul-de-sac and took pictures, Fippe took some trash from the site with him and we headed back. We talked about this and that and mostly Geohashing while walking to the station and taking the S-Bahn to Hauptbahnhof. I congratulated Fippe on his recent epic 89-day streak and asked whether it was hard and if he'd felt demotivated at times. He admitted there had been low points, but when it really came to it, he'd reminded himself of the old mantra ''"Man muss sein Hobby auch ernst nehmen"'' (''"You've got to take your hobby seriously sometimes"'') and went for it anyway. The absolute madlad.

At the central station, I introduced Fippe to one of the world's only Harry Potter stores, over two storeys no less, which we learned would close and relocate to Munich in early January despite being immensely successful. After making the first plans for Geohashing Day, we split and I cycled to the Stabi (federal library) to work on my thesis until I attended a concert with a friend in the evening.

Fippe

In the early morning, I cycled to Osnabrück Central, took the train via Bremen and Hamburg-Harburg to Hamburg-Eidelstedt and walked the rest of the distance.

Before taking the most obvious approach from the south, I wanted to check if an approach from the north or the east was possible, so I entered the Hornbach's parking lot. After realizing that there was no connection to the building's southern wall from there, I tried circumcenting the store counter-clockwise, but ran into a gate north of the building. Fine, I'll approach from the south.

The street leading up to the building from the south ends in a cul-de-sac, which is where the coordinates were located. There was a fence to the east, but I was able to locate the coordinates west of it, and recorded proof.

Not long after, π π π arrived, and he located the coordinates and recorded proof too. He also has a photo of both of our feet on site.

We figured that nobody else was going to join us, so we walked to the Hamburg-Elbgaustraße station and took the train to Hamburg Central. There, we had a good time exploring the Harry Potter store, and also discussed Geohashing Day 2024 in Germany before our ways separated. I took the train via Bremen to Osnabrück Central and cycled back home.

He admitted there had been low points, but when it really came to it, he'd reminded himself of the old mantra "Man muss sein Hobby auch ernst nehmen" ("You've got to take your hobby seriously sometimes") and went for it anyway.
