Location
on a street between housing blocks in Hamburg-Dulsberg

Expedition
Interesting location. I was planning to go to the observatory on Monday anyway, so this hash was convenient. Usually, I ride right past here on the S1 line, but it's currently closed for construction, so I had to find another way. Because I figured it would detract less from how much I got done that day, I decided to visit in the evening rather than the morning.
Leaving the observatory, I took the RE to central station and then the U1 to Straßburger Straße. From here, it was only 300 m to the hash, which lay right in the middle of a street between two housing blocks. Actually, the two blocks were part of the same building that connected in the north, right where the hash was, with the road leading through in a sort of underpass. Two metres to the north, the hash would've been on the street and right under the building. I quickly took pictures, encountering only a few bored pedestrians and no traffic.
I looked up how long it would take me to cycle the 5.2 km to Sengelmannstraße, another U1 station that lay on the northern arm of the line (the U1 connects the north to the east of Hamburg, but goes through the centre, so this'd be much faster than going back to Straßburger Straße and and traversing the inner city). It turned out to be one minute longer than I had time, which was doable. However, I'd forgotten to reattach my bike's phone hold after I had to change my tyre recently, so I'd have to hold my phone in my hand the entire time.
I sped through the dark streets, inwardly cursing every time I was held up by a traffic light. Twice I missed my turn, and cycling in the muddy Stadtpark was slow going. My estimated arrival time kept jumping between just making it and just missing the train. In a heroic effort, I sped through City Nord and reached the station with just seconds to spare before my train arrived. Amazingly, this exact train had left Straßburger Straße station, where I'd disembarked to get to the hash, before my train had even arrived there half an hour previously. It had taken all that time just to go to centre and then north. What a wild chase.
