Location

This Noord_West_Nederland geohash was just South of Voorschoten, about 20m West of the train tracks, approximately 1km South of the nearest station. It was on private property, with trespassing forbidden.

Participants

Fijian Scion was surprised to find himself in the country when a hash was so close to home, so he finally got around to attempting a meetup, cycling from Leiden. It was his first hash.

Expedition

I don't have a positioning device, so I was working from googlemaps printed before I left, and travelling by bike. It was beautiful weather, and the hash location was surrounded by pretty decent Dutch countryside.

After finding the closest point on the wrong (and easily accessible) side of the tracks, I cycled South and across to try and approach from the other side. I was confronted by a park through which I was not allowed to cycle, and then by private property on which I could not trespass.

Not to be downhearted I cycled back the way I had come and crossed the tracks again North of the hash, at Voorschoten station. But again, I was quickly to be confronted with a no trespassing sign.

Content that I had got as close as possible, I returned to the original point just East of the hash across the tracks, where there was a bench perfectly suited for sunbathing, reading my New Scientist, practising High Dynamic Range photography (http://stuckincustoms.com/2006/06/06/548/), and waiting for other geohashers.

No-one showed up, so after an hour or so I cycled back home - leaving a "The Internet Was Here" sign, of course.

Hope to catch someone next time.
