Eupeodes finaly aims for a hash in his home graticule. Will attempt by public transport. There are also several Geocaches close to the hash.

GC1WXFZ 90 meters
GC1WWXA 860 meters
GC31VFT 1 kilometer

The first one might qualify for Hash collision depending on the exact location of the hash.

Expedition

I (Eupeodes) set of in the morning and took the bus to Tiel, from here I took several trains to reach Weert and from there another bus to a bit less than 2 km from the hash. On my way he saw several nice birds.

I started walking and on my way I first reached GC1WWXA. From there I walked on to the hashpoint. After some pictures I went for GC1WXFZ. Took some time but found it. After this I headed for the last hash within a kilometer from the hash. Due to my gps not being very accurate GC31VFT was a bit of challenge but successful.

Now all I had on paper was done, but I wanted more so he looked up the rest of the series 'Wegkruisen' and decided to go for it. The first hash I reached was GC1WXFN, then I continued to GC1WX54 and finally (after some site-seeing) to GC1WX59. Here I noticed it was already getting quite late and reaching to other 2 hashes and the bonus hash would cost me still a lot of time. My feet did not feel so well anymore either (I got a blister) so I decided to stop here. I walked back to the busstop and traveled back home the same way I came. When I got home I had traveled 250,6 kilometer by public transport and walked 12,7 kilomters.

With this hash I finally was successful in my home graticule, leading to level 1 of the minesweeper achievement, also I did this one only by public transport and foot, so public transport hash as well. Since GC1WXFZ was not in line of sight from the hashpoint it is only a honorabel mention for hash collision.

Achievements

Eupeodes earned the Public transport geohash achievement

by reaching the (51, 5) geohash on 2012-06-29 via two buslines and three traines.

Eupeodes achieved level 1 of the Minesweeper Geohash achievement

by visiting coordinates in Eindhoven, Netherlands and 1 of the surrounding graticules.

Eupeodes earned the Hash collision honorable mention

by discovering the geocache GC1WXFZ 90 meters from the (51, 5) geohash on 2012-06-29.
