Location

A few meters from two small lakes, called the Jägerhausseen. The lakes are located in a partial locality of Karlsruhe.

Participants

Chemluth, DODO, Elimik31, Lambda, RC.

Plans

Meeting up with a lot of people RecentlyChanged (talk) invited to the place. He will bring some Glühwein (mulled wine)! Hopefully someone will be motivated to show up (at around 8 p.m).

Invited the Ingress Community of the area, tuned to see who will join. Update: Nobody.

Chemluth is interested, but would have to drive one hour from Mosbach. Update: Chemluth will atempt this hash. I will bring some Flachswickel and Schnitzbrot.

DODO wants to come. I try to convince my wife to come with me (maybe Glühwein could persuade her). I feel ill today, so I'm not 100% sure I can make it, but I'll do my very best.

Expedition

  • Deviated a bit from my usual way to the Campus Nord. My first geohash. Maybe I'll return later today at about 11 pm. Nor sure what proof is needed, I might add something later. Posting from smartphone. -- Elimik31 (talk) @49.0385,8.4511 06:31, 8 December 2014 (EST)
    • Awesome, congratulations! A screenshot of your smartphone and a selfie from you at the hashpoint would be awesome. But you did already a better job with your proof then I did the first time. Hope to hear more from you! - RecentlyChanged (talk) 06:36, 8 December 2014 (EST)
      • Can't come at 8 pm, b/c I've training until 10 pm. Pictures are coming. -- Elimik31 (talk)

As seen by RC: I came home at around 7 pm, 'borrowed' some milk from my flatmate (hey, I asked!) ate very quick while heating the wrong stoveplate, so instead of heating the Glühwein I reheated the water from something the other flatmate luckily already took out. Then I quickly made my way to the Hash. On my way, my mother called me and because of already low battery and the really fresh weather outside (frozen Hash, yeah!) the battery died the instant I hung up. Damn, I will never learn it. Luckily I was able to turn it back on after some reheating and found my way to the Hash.

Hey, someone's already there, taking badass photos. "Hi", "Uhmmm, hi?!", "You're a hasher, right?", "What?", "Uhm, don't mind, I'm looking for some guys, you've seen them?" *Getting uncomfortable* "No", "Hmm, don't mind. Wanna join, it's a strange game, where we have to go right behind that trees." "Uh sorry, I have to go! Over there's a friend of mine!" (There really was).

Ok the next time I will be more carefull. There's another person... *being carefull, looking slightly at the person*. Yes, it is DODO, yeah. We're both a little bit late, so no problem, now we just have to look for Chemluth. "HEEEELLLOOOOO" "hhh.. eell.. ooo". Long story short: we found them. Them? Yes, there was really another hasher! A newbie, not introduced by Chemluth as I first thought, but lured by my awesome mail I've send to every physicists at my university (at least two I've got, I think that's not bad)

Next thing I did: looking for people to join, but the nice pair of dog owners was gone, instead I found some creepy russians. I still started a conversation, but gave up really fast (Hi, What do you want?, Sorry thought you are someone else, bye). Then I got back to the other hashers and we shared our goods. Then we made a quick game of 'asshole' ( that's the direct translation, I didn't even try to google it), it is a card game as you can see below.

Finally we got our things back into our backs and went our way. I tried to make a tron out of it, but the area was really tron-unfriendly, so I gave up quickly and decided to ride back together with Lambda.

The End.

Lambda's experience: Got that e-mail by RC and thought: Hey, that sounds fun, let's do it. I went by bike but it quickly felt cold. As I arrived in the area my phone agreed on what I thought of the temperature and shut off. Fortunately, Chemluth arrived a few minutes later. Together we found the hash and waited for RC and Dodo to arrive. They finally did and together we played a round of Daifugō. (I looked it up and it sounds more approriate than the german name). By then it felt even colder so RC and I didn't dawdle on our way back home. That's how I completed my first hash!
