Vacant, weedy commercial lot on Adams St., Holland, MI
Participants
Expedition
I went out after dinner to visit a colleague in the hospital (fell off garage roof and broke pelvis in several places, ouch) and visited this hashpoint afterwards. It was in a vacant lot just east of a car wash. I got there well past sundown. I could vaguely see because of the combination of light from nearby businesses and the remaining dim light in the sky. I could not see my footing, or see very well what kinds of plants I was walking through except for the tallest ones. The thick weeds ranged from knee-high to head-high. The tallest ones had thistle-like seedheads and were prickly, though none had sharp thorns. The footing was very uneven. I think if it hadn't been pretty dry lately it would have been swampy. I used light from the cellphone to determine that it wasn't full of poison ivy, and plunged blindly ahead for the roughly 50 m required.
My main motivation: resolving a Tale of Two Hashes challenge for Holland issued by User:Pedalpusher in 2016-04-04_42_-78. Holland, Michigan has now been used both to issue a challenge for Holland (2015-01-31_42_-86, answered by User:JwB on 2015-02-11_52_4) and to answer one.
